Look at it this way, Art. If our president or his defense secretary puts out the launch codes in their next group text and includes their good buddy in Moscow (Russia, not Iowa), all our worries will be over.

If we're really lucky, they'll mess that up too and actually send it to some guy in Moscow Iowa who's a night clerk at the World's Largest Truck Stop in I-80. He'll think it's spam, delete it and save the world from nuclear winter as he rings up somebody's overpriced eggs.

Love that sense of humor - in an uncomfortable sort of way. 😶

Delightful if not for the fear I'm feeling. Thank you for your humor, we so need the lighter stuff at times.

I was dismayed to read that the rollout of this year’s attempt at a Vaccine had been defunded. It was promised that one for 2026 could be available. RNA modification was proven science in 1974 and gene modification the year after. I got my degree in 1973 in Chemistry and was well aware of the progress. A COVID Vaccine was perfected in late January of 2020, just a few weeks after the World Health Organization made the Genome available to any Scientist who could use the information. There was a six month delay to allow for testing. This is not a vaccine made from eggs(thank goodness) and didn’t require years to produce . We can have a vaccine available in days. And if it messes with the genetic makeup of the vaccinated individual, maybe it could also have a feature to help stamp out the Stupidity Pandemic.

Just listened a few days ago to an excellent presentation by Andrew Ward from Scripps re: Decoding Viruses for Vaccine Innovation. The Ward Lab has been doing some groundbreaking work for years - it is sad to see it possibly disappearing in our race to the bottom.

I remember once spending all day cleaning out my uncle's chicken coop when I was younger. My exposure to all the droppings in an enclosed building made me dizzy by the end of the day. Robert Kennedy is behaving as if he experienced the same dizziness but I'm betting he hasn't been near a chicken coop.

It's no longer survival of the fittest. It's survival of the richest. So long as they can afford to avoid their own consequences (and in fact profit off of them) they'll continue on this course. On top of everything else we do every day to stop this, remember to hit the streets April 5th. Power concedes nothing without a demand.

Wrong direction...Repub fools rule...Pillen, Reynold's & the gang flu & hog confinement govern unabated. Meanwhile, our farm renter--corn soybeans--rolls the dice. Corporate AG? Repubs sit on their hands. With the book, "Dodge County Incorporated" by Sonja Trim Eayrs, we see there's no-going back. Sad the world we're leaving our grandchildren. Sadder yet why felon Trump got re-elected.

I’m surprised Trump hasn’t ordered to feed the chickens bleach. Cuz it would cure Covid so should work for the bird flu.

Playing a game of chicken with the chickens. Seems to be a policy of the current administration.

Crazy. Trump has turned our nation into a world wide fiasco, in part by appointing unqualified yes-men and women. Unfortunately half the country is clueless about these matters.

I suppose we’re all beginning to feel a little crazy. Crazy, or just frightened beyond all measure. When everything is falling apart it is hard to know which ball to keep your eye on. Thanks, Art. You always lighten my load even when the message is dire.

Did we REALLY vote for THIS .. . . . ??

Well, no--all of us crazies in Johnson County did not vote for it. Which is no comfort at all now that the bird droppings are hitting the fan.

About 70+ million registered voters did not vote. Perhaps some of your and Art's readers can offer a reason to for not voting. Regrets are only accepted, accompanied by actions to undue the harm.

I know many who felt horrible about their not voting. One of my friends actually voted but refused to do either presidential or vice president.

I just looked outside and saw that the nuts were gathering squirrels today. Am I the only one who questions the sanity of all of my country? I strongly advise we all take a test to be graded by the psychiatrist of your choice before you're allowed to not only vote but to be allowed to get a driver's license. Heck fire, people, other countries are either laughing or considering to not let the crazy americans in lest their insanity be contagious. Let the bird flu run rampant so the vast majority of people who work in this industry are left with nothing, their faith and hope lost. What's next, what happens when the next virus is let out and people start expiring in the streets? Let them eat cake is what our feared leaders strongly believe.

I strongly believe that politicians are no longer actual human beings but puppets for those who shall not be named for fear of serious reprisal.

Thank you for reading my insanity

J. Price
