I hit the heart button only because I want you to know that there are a whole lot of us who care about what happens to Art Cullen. Take care of yourself, be good to yourself, and for heaven's sake, keep laughing! For now, that is the best defense we have.

Best wishes on getting Dr Waterbury, as Bill did in Sioux Falls. Let’s all pray for a Kamala win or all our hearts will need attention !

Please consider this as a note from an almost Dr. (only a JD). I prescribe continued writing, given it seems like a solid means to vent and re-direct angst, anger and anxiety. Your doses of humor and sarcasm, if nothing else, helps lower the blood pressure of your readers.

Well, I was going to hit the ‘heart’ button, but not because I ‘love’ this report.

My husband, who just had a triple bypass last week, expressed similar thoughts. We’re safely tucked in Minnesota, in an outer ring suburb of Minneapolis, so we don’t have the localized anxiety you have, but even as I try to keep my spouse away from the news and the many blogs he reads, he’ll read one anyway and wonder, sometimes aloud, if it would have been better if he died. From my perspective, no, no it would not, but I do understand. We are both at a high level of anxiety, most of it about his recovery, but the rest, about politics. No safe landing spot for us right now. I wish you the path to good health and less worries.

I'm bowled over by the string of medical issues you're dealing with, Art, and am sending prayers & every good vibe I can access your way for a turn-around. Your columns have been a beacon of hope to those of us who care about our hometown and the state we grew up in — we thank you for keeping up the work you do so well and want you to continue.

Just be sticking around, buddy. As evidenced by this column, there’s nobody faster than you at recognizing and unloading a train car full of milorganite. Here’s to continuing clicking your heels.

Robert Reich calls this an organ recital--older people get together and share how all their parts are functioning. Mom said she was "parts missing", but that's funnier when we're talking about capons. Maybe meditation could replace Marlburo Reds? In the last 10 years, my only health crises have been from prescription drugs--I didn't give them up, I merely changed to drugs that didn't cause trouble.

Healing energy heading your way. You have a lot more of these columns to keep us thinking, talking, energized and chuckling. I appreciate you, your talent and you being you as our friends have already said they do. Keep taking care of yourself, maybe lose 1 more of those Marlboros, we aren't done with you here for a long while yet.

"If it ain't one thing, it's another" is my mantra. Will the Rs will push me over the edge? Is my mental health oozing away? One more life challenge & I'll put in a doggy door so I never have to leave the house again. You are so appreciated for bravely indicating others are not taking this at all well.
