A New York jury offered a tonic to the American soul last week when it convicted Donald Trump of 34 felony charges for trying to cover up hush-money payments to a porn star immediately before the 2016 election.
Your words are a light in what sometimes seems like a dark tunnel (witness the WSJ’s focus on Biden’s age). Even with an assault on the union by so many Republican politicians, whom we should be able to trust as our elected leaders, the republic holds at the grassroots level. Thanks for your encouraging voice this morning, Art.
Thank the lord for the jurors who listened to testimony rather than DJT’s bragging, bluster, whining and complaining. I’m disappointed that iowa politicians still defend this criminal. I’m registering my opinions with my vote in November 2024.
Thank you Mr. Cullen for your reflection upon events that affect Iowans.
I find it sad that the media focuses on the $130,000 payment to Stormy. The reality is that Trump paid $420,000 to make this problem go away--and then had the audacity to claim the $420,000 as a business expense, saving him nearly $200,000 in taxes (federal income tax of 37% and New York income tax of 10.9%--which assumes he is in the top bracket, tax wise).
Why and how does someone who claims to be a billionaire get away with being a lowlife tax cheater?
Amen. I was taken aback by how Trump's lackeys, from the two senators to the four federal representativesz to the governor, all cried "sham" in unison. A church choir couldn't have done it better.

Thanks for the healthy dose of optimism, Art! We need that!

A tonic to the American soul—indeed! And your words inspire hope. There’s been so little of that for so long. Thank you.

Thanks.
Thank you for again bringing hope, Art — my spirits have been low…
