He's the classic Carnival Barker, shrieking so loud as to grab the attention of everyone; lauding the freak show, the Fire Eater and the man eating Lions! He has a roulette wheel rants; migrant crime, CHINA or the awful people who are out to get him, stolen election or BIDEN.
The sick part for the Mrs. and I is the number of people who pay homage to him; friends, coworkers, people we once liked and admired. How have so many jumped on the bandwagon?
Farmers, for crying out loud? He's got them on the precipice of bankruptcy with tariffs and who pray tell will pick sweet corn, asparagus, tomatoes and the 100 other crops hand picked by migrants? As teenagers we would detassle corn, is that still done by bus loads of high schoolers? I kinda sorta doubt it.
We have a lot of questions, all of us are raising questions but the only response seems to be to "hang in there, baby". He'll eventually destroy himself, I just hope we're not part of the carnage.
You are right on target. Iowa Republicans are saying Trump’s agenda and their Iowa agenda is common sense. They are using this term to calm down the craziness of Trump. It doesn’t feel like common sense when a man who could not manage two veteran non profits becomes the head of our defense department. More wisdom from the President of Mexico indicates the guns the drug cartels use are manufactured in the USA. Common sense? I don’t think so. Sounds more like nonsense to me!
Thanks for the forum Mr. Cullen, the topic is as hot as the LA Fires, and he's going to hold the State of California hostage for clicks!? I have so many questions....

I've been politically conscious since the 6th grade? We had lively discussions, it was '70-71 and Viet Nam was in full force. I had one brother in the Navy and the other would be in the Army by '72. By the 8th grade we were doing debates and a mock election. I was the guy voting for McGovern. I think incumbency ruled for Nixon amongst my fellow 8th graders and then Watergate.
By the time Gerald Ford took the Oath of Office everyone had gone back to rooting for Football, baseball and acne medication.
Fast forward 40 odd years and the guys that wouldn't be able to tell you who their Congressional representative were, much less what district they were in are suddenly Champions of the Conservative movement?
What is the draw to this behemoth? Is it the wealth? He has access to a ton of money, more by the minute, but how much money does he own and what does he owe? Is it the power? He's bolstered by the throngs of Republicans praising him and encouraging him not to stop because of the flood of cash he brings in.
In the biopic "A Complete Unknown"-(great, great movie! well done, even if you're not a Dylan fan) there is a conversation between Pete Seeger and Dylan just before the unwieldly performance began at Newport, Seeger recited a parable: (paraphrasing) Its like we're on a giant see saw, one side has a bag of rocks holding it down. On the other side we walk up with a spoonful of sand to try and get the board to level. You come along with a shovel!. Look up the " the Teaspoon Brigade" on the webs, it's analogous to where we are today.
I barely recall the era of JFK, mostly I recall watching the Cason's on TV, JohnJohn and Caroline saluting as it rolls by. I was 5 and TV was a thing. Mom worked nights as an RN in Waterloo and I had morning Kindergarten. Then Martin, then Bobby and it was 40 years before there was truly Hope from the Democratic party. Obama had a shovel, maybe we can find one on sale soon. I hear prices are really going to come down!!!!
He is a dangerous man child in his thoughts, his words, and his deeds. For the life of me I cannot figure out how people could listen to his imbecile blathering and think he was the best choice to run our country. To paraphrase a post from Jeff Tiedrich after the drunk abuser was “confirmed” in the Senate “people voted for someone who said they would bring down the price of eggs and they ended up with a p*ss drunk SOD. Good job, America. Take a victory lap”
